The encounter is shown in a flashback in this issue. Access's search for someone to help Spider-Man fight Mantis led him to the DC Universe, where he encountered Jade in Green Lantern Vol. 3 #87, in a scene that is in turn referenced in Unlimited Access #1. ![]() In addition, Access, a character originally introduced in the DC Versus Marvel series, makes an appearance in Green Lantern Vol. It's still in the Knight's End trade paperbacks! They did get away with it concerning that very same crossover, though with the other guy in the Batsuit - Jean-Paul Valley, in his dementia, actually names Jigsaw (a major Punisher villain) as one of those who got put away. Want to say 'the Puncturer'?") Even if Word of God claims that a comic crossover is "In Continuity," the characters involved will never speak of it again for legal reasons. The writers dealt with the "where I met this guy before" story by having Nightwing have a rare memory lapse about the other guy ("Out-of-town psycho vigilante. A Batman/Punisher crossover introduced a villain who later turned up in Nightwing. The Pulverizer, the Penetrator? I forget". The events of punisher and batman crossover are referenced in Nightwing Vol 2 #44, which has Dick Grayson mention that a vicelord (Jimmy Navarone) was "axed by some out of town psycho vigilante. In Extreme Justice #18 Blue Beetle uses a "fibrous polymer" to entangle two opponents which will "dissolve in an hour or so", and explains he "got the recipe from this guy who just drifted through from some alternative universe recently", referring to Spider-Man. The logo for Radu's Coffee Shop Kyle designs at the beginning of this issue later appears in the ongoing series, first in Green Lantern Vol. ![]() ![]() Kyle Rayner designs a logo for a coffee shop in this series which we see late run the canonical series. In the comic Parallax: Emerald Knight, Parallax mentions having chased Cyborg Superman: “across the universe and even into another”. Green Lantern/Silver Surfer: Unholy Alliances (1995). Both "Willow" and "Lorelei" are listed as aliases of Mantis in that character's Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe listing, which also gives brief descriptions of the events from the DC and Eclipse issues (while not using any terms trademarked to those companies). Englehart would later write a further continuation in his Eclipse Comics title Scorpio Rose, this time using the name "Lorelei". Steve Englehart used the character of Willow to continue the "Celestial Madonna" storyline he had written for the Marvel character Mantis. Both aliases are included in Mantis' entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Avengers 2005. Mantis later turned up in Eclipse Comics' Scorpio Rose, again written by Englehart, and this time calling herself Lorelei. Despite the name change, her dialogue made it as clear as copyright would allow that she was 616's Mantis, living on DC's Earth as a way of keeping her infant child out of the reach of his enemies. The marvel handbook flat out references this crossover in his history (although the villain of the story, Krona, is called "the scholar" to avoid copyright with DC)Īfter the Celestial Madonna storyline concluded and Steve Englehart started working on DC's Justice League of America title, he brought Mantis into the JLA's storyline, calling her by the alias Willow. But those 11 stories are canon together because they all happened on the same earth. To conclude, no crossover story is canon with the Main continuities because the main stories don't happen on Crossover-Earth. Batman and Captain America #1 for example is not set on Crossover Earth but rather Earth-3839. Not all stories where Marvel and DC characters coexist in the same reality happen on Crossover Earth. Later in The online companion to the All New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (2006) Marvel added In this Handbook Marvel lists the following adventures under the Earth-7642: In the Mavel Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe this univers is named Earth-7642. All the DC/Marvel crossover are sayd to happen on Crossover Earth. ![]() Marvel also acknowledges multiple earths. It acknowledges that there are multiple parallel universes and that they are all different. I don't know the answer but let me tell yo that a story only becomes canon if it is referenced or has consequences in another comic.Īll I know is that in the DC Univers there is what is called the Multivers. Bump, I've been debating with my friend for awhile now and he's bell-bent on proving the crossovers are canon, how do I prove him otherwise? Has any DC or Marvel official confirmed it yet? If not then please leave a citation on how I can prove him wrong.
